The name blovel is a combination of blog and novel. The concept is a fictional work delivered in a serial format through a blog. Authors provide regular updates, just as with traditional weblogs, but they are fictional and follow a plotline.

Ideally, blovels are more interesting than blogs because the authors have license to make things up! (Not that they don't in blogs, but online diaries tend to be pretty mundane anyway.)

What kinds of blovels do you list?

We will list blovels in any genre, including fanfiction and erotica, and will appropriately label all links. To qualify to be listed on this site, the blovel must have only one author and must attain a minimal level of legibility. We will only list blovels which are available to readers for free. If you are interested in having your blovel listed on this site, send an email to Samantha.Enns@sjca.edu and please include a working link, a title, a brief description, and a genre.

Why are you doing this?

To enable readers to find some worthwhile entertainment on the web, and to enable authors to gain a following, or at least the sporadic reader. We just want people to be able to find and be found. Blovels aren't very numerous yet, especially good ones, and we hope to fix that and cultivate this phenomenon into a trend.

How to you plan to help people find "good" blovels?

We will have a listing of Editor's Picks. It won't be updated regularly, because they will be chosen based on the availability of the highest quality prose available.
